As a little girl, I loved going to the hair salon with my mom. I remember that no matter how people came in looking they always came out looking and feeling like a million bucks. I guess that is when I realized that I wanted to be a part of making people feel good about themselves. As I got older, I went from watching hair be done to being the one who did it. I went from styling my mannequins to doing my own hair, to finally doing other people’s hair. I found pure joy in making someone feel even more beautiful. I knew that I wanted to be in this industry but, was unsure of in what capacity until I took my first Chemistry class in high school. From then on the dream has been embedded in my head and I was focused on making it a reality. While completing my B of Science in Chemistry at Howard University, she launched BOLDXR BEAUTY, Inc.
As a society, we are taught the idea of beauty at a very early age. From baby dolls to Barbie dolls, Bratz dolls, and the list goes on little girls see immediately what the standard of beauty is. As we get older, we have models, actors, and magazines to show us beauty and make us raise questions about if we fit. But what happens to those that don’t fit in what society deems as beauty? What if are dark skin, thicker, and don’t have hair like your favorite Disney princess?
BOLDXR BEUATY’S mission is to celebrate unapologetic self-expression by providing hair care products that promote healthy and daring lifestyles. Our motto is that when people use our products they feel more than Confident, more than Extraordinary, more than Bold. Our goal is that everyone no matter size, shape, or color feels whole. We do this by not only providing products that include ingredients that are beneficial for their hair but, by creating a community that adds to mind, body, and soul completeness.
